Stanley is the Vice President of Finance and Marketing at Stanley Construction Company in Huntsville, Ala., a family-owned business founded by Thornton Stanley, the 2001 U.S. Small Business Administration National Small Businessperson of the Year. Stanley is also the owner and managing consultant for Key Success Factors Consulting, which provides strategic planning, organizational development and leadership training for businesses and non-profit organizations. Stanley’s career has taken her to Philadelphia, Boston, St. Louis, New York and Brussels, Belgium with corporations including American Express, Cabot Plastiques and Monsanto Chemicals. Stanley worked with Dr. Dorothy Height and Dr. Jeanne L. Noble at the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) as a faculty member in the NCNW Leadership Institute. Stanley also served as Director of Urban Affairs for the City of Buffalo in the office of Mayor Byron W. Brown, garnering almost $20 million in grants and contracts. Stanley earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University.
